1.  Developer II

 

- Division:NLO

- Job Description:

 

  Manages the product creation process from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned

 

models to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability,

performance, and profitability goals.

  Collaborates with Headquarter, Factory and Manufacturing, to effectively lead and execute on product development goals

and deliverables.

Mentor less tenured teammates.

  Tracks and facilitates sampling and prototyping for products; identifies and addresses key issues and challenges in

construction/manufacturing and plans accordingly to deliver proven and tested product. 

  Monitors and communicates progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity

requirements. 

  Keeps abreast of market trends, category goals, new technology and consumer needs throughout

the development process and engages appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate

guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

Internal leader in footwear development, heading highly complex models and new product

introductions. 

 

- Job Requirements:

 

Bachelor Degree and minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience

Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials, and the product creation life cycle

  Seasonal project manager and problem solver able to handle complex product launches. 

  Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate goals and

objectives. 

  Strong influencing skills and ability to champion complex projects both cross functionally and vertically within the

organization.

 

 

2  Product Engineer II

- Team: Product Creation

- Position Title:Product Engineer II

- Job Band: U

- Location: Busan

 

- Job Description:

 

   Act as expert resource within the category during the development phase to identify and alleviate potential manufacturing issues and improve efficiency or costing. Make early recommendations on product construction techniques and tooling solutions.

  Actively manage and facilitate the development and commercialization of higher levels of technology and key models on a seasonal basis.

  Collaborate with the engineering and category teams on a regular basis to develop best practice and process efficiency project agendas.

  Work closely and communicate often with other Engineers in other manufacturing countries to obtain consistency in technical, development and production across respective category.

  Act as mentor to junior Engineering teammates to better prepare them for future growth and challenges.

  Support innovation plans target to specific category and infrastructure needs and ensure proven and tested readiness of new technologies and methods prior to production.

 

 

- Job Requirements:

 

College degree in related technical/engineering field. Additional experience required in lieu of a degree. A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a specialized category footwear technical capacity to include pattern engineering, development and production.

Demonstrated depth of knowledge of footwear engineering process, Asian production and RD&D processes. General

knowledge of mold engineering required. Must be familiar with materials used in category specific footwear.  Must know

machinery used in the manufacturing of category footwear and expected results. 

  Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.  Ability to provide guidance and advice within area of

expertise.  Sensitive to differing cultures, customs and business practices.

 

 

 

3. Chemical Engineer 1

- Team: Chemical Engineering
- Position Title: Chemical Engineer
- Location: Busan

Job Description

PCC (Product Creation Center)/Factory based technical facilitator focusing on product readiness and process improvement through process validation to assure performance, quality, craftsmanship and manufacturing efficiency meet category and consumer expectations from concept to product.
The nature of the work is focused on research and development of products and process and requires scientific investigation directed toward the acquisition of new knowledge. Research can include, but is not limited to, enlarging and organizing the technical knowledge base; understanding the limitations of technology and how to apply its capabilities; developing proof-of-concept prototypes; devising methods and tools for modeling, analyzing and developing products and services.


Product Management (40%)
● Collaborate with the stakeholder teams as a chemical technical resource during product creation in identifying and facilitating proactive solutions for

o Performance (Proven & Tested)
o Profitability/Manage to target FOB
o Manufacturability
o Sustainability/Considered
o FPI (Footwear Product Integrity/Quality) issues

● Actively monitor and support individual products in the commercialization process and facilitate, review and confirm commercialization trials as appropriate (chemical related)
● Review product creation and commercialization documents and monitor data integrity (chemical related)
● Facilitate creation and review of the Bonding Process Flow Chart (BPFC)/PFC (Process Flow Chart) and confirm as required
● Attend trials based on Global Trial Definitions to confirm trial results and key product and process confirmation requirements as required.

Product and Process Excellence (25%)
● Understand and actively monitor/utilize category best practices and chemical standards
● Support local and global chemical engineering initiatives and strategic goals

● Coordinate and execute new chemical process introduction, trials and validation to support project goals and timelines
● Communicate and consult with the factory teams on category and functional BP’s (Best Practices) and provide direction on exceptions based on collaboration with the Category team and CEL (Category Engineering Lead)
● Provide feedback to the Country Chemical Engineering Director on PCC team functional engineering performance.

Communication/Coaching & Mentoring (25%)
● Assist in training of product and process stakeholders on various chemical engineering topics including best practices, quality audits
● Assist in the introduction, validation and training of factory teams on chemical engineering initiatives and projects
● Monitor PCC team communication and provide input and coaching
● Communicate directly with CEL and other NIKE/Factory engineering resources to support functional collaboration on category initiatives and specific project issues
● Facilitate open communication with Category team
● Provide functional mentoring to PCC engineering resources to support NIKE perspective and functional excellence
● Collaborate with NIKE and PCC/factory teams on creative problem solving through coaching and mentoring

Innovation (10%)
● Support project specific functional collaboration with Innovation to facilitate delivery of new technology to inline product
● Proven skills as a creative problem solver and innovator

 

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, polymer science or other chemical related discipline
● 2+ years working experience highly preferred, 4 years directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree
● Experience in apparel/textile/footwear a plus
● A proven record of success working with external resources such as universities, testing labs, and material suppliers in USA, Europe and Asia
● Ability to design and conduct research and development experiment
● Ability to be part of complex initiatives and project teams
● Fluent in written and verbal English communication skills
● Influencing skills
● Must be self-driven, motivated and able to work independently
